Spirits and ghosts : these are not just phenomena that occur in children's rooms ! The white-hooded figure is but the smallest problem. Belief in ghosts and spirits reveal something about our history and the culture. It has influenced religions, as well as our knowledge of psychology and medicine. Students in this course will deal with physical and biological phenomena that unmasks « ghosts » and traces the « unknowns » in forests and houses.

Specters, wraiths and ghostly phenomena are also embodied in the visual arts and music, which can be discovered in opera, theatrical pieces and art collections.

The final project is comprised of a visit to and documentation of a site with (allegedly)-permanent hauntings is planned.

Taste : a phenomenon that changes from year to year, from time to time, from country to country and from culture to culture. What attracts us, which style do we prefer, why do we suddenly crave for fast food, and why don't we like a fish? These and other questions will be explored in different workshops from cooking to fashion design !
